What does it mean that I'm a fiduciary, and why should you care?

These are not just credentials on a business card. They are commitments I make to every client I work with.

Most advisors

Suitability Standard

Only required to recommend products that are suitable for you — even if better options exist or the recommendation benefits them financially.

Mark Morgan

Fiduciary Standard

Legally and ethically required to act in your best interest at all times. No hidden commissions. No conflicts of interest. Period.

Fiduciary

What is a Fiduciary?

A fiduciary is legally and ethically required to put your interests first, always. Every recommendation I make is based entirely on what is right for your situation. No hidden agendas, no outside influences, just honest advice.

CFP®

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

The CFP® is the gold standard in financial planning. Earning it required rigorous coursework, a comprehensive exam, and a strict code of ethics. Less than 30% of advisors hold this designation. It means I am qualified to handle the full complexity of your financial life.

CPFA®

Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor

The CPFA® means I am specifically qualified to serve as a fiduciary for workplace retirement plans. This is especially valuable for business owners who sponsor 401(k) plans and need an advisor who understands the legal obligations that come with that responsibility.

The three duties I commit to as a CFP®

These are not suggestions. They are enforceable obligations under the CFP Board's Code of Ethics.

Duty 01

Duty of Loyalty

I must place your interests above my own and above the interests of my firm at all times. Your financial wellbeing always comes first.

Duty 02

Duty of Care

I must act with the care, skill, prudence, and diligence of a professional who is knowledgeable in financial planning. No shortcuts, no guesswork.

Duty 03

Duty to Follow Client Instructions

I must act in accordance with your objectives, risk tolerance, and stated wishes. Your goals drive every decision we make together.

You deserve an advisor who is unambiguously on your side.

That is what being a fiduciary CFP® means to me. Not a tagline. A commitment I take seriously every single day.
